It's 'Five Minute Friday'!! You know what that means - I'm linking up with The Gypsy Mama and writing for five flat and not a minute more. Today's prompt is: REMEMBER {of all the words I thought she might pick, this was not one ;0)}
GO!
It seems as though I'm always telling someone to remember something. "Remember your lunch!" "Remember your manners!" "Remember to meet me here at 3:00!" Always remember.
Somewhere in the reminding others to remember, I have forgotten nearly everything - -where I put my keys and sunglasses, the word for that thingy over there, the name of which kiddo I am addressing, and the list goes on and on.
It is a cryin' shame that somewhere in the midst of the mess, of running three other people's lives, of keeping up with three other schedules and chores and homework and housework and groceries... I sometimes forget {and need to remember} to take time and give thanks to the One who makes all this mayhem possible. I need to remember to find a bit of quiet and say thank you, not just on Sundays as I wait for the body and blood, not just when all is going my way, but in the everyday. In every way...thank you.
STOP!
I'll return on Monday with a few ideas on how to teach gratitude to our little {and not so little} ones. They are fun ideas and i can't wait to share them with you!
HAVE A BLESSED WEEKEND!
{K}
Wonderful insight. (and a great reminder for us all!)
ReplyDeleteOh, so true! I can really relate, from the lost keys to the lack of thanks. I'm grateful for these true words tonight!
